I work in the long-term care industry because I love all people
Professionally, I began my career as a master’s level social worker for dialysis facilities owned by Atrium Health. I spent 11 years at Miller Street Dialysis Center before I decided to return to school during the pandemic to pursue a master’s in healthcare administration. Upon receiving my MHA, I became an Administrator in Training at Well-Spring, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Greensboro. I became licensed by the State of North Carolina as a Nursing Home Administrator in 2024 and recently received certification from the State as an Assisted Living Administrator. I work in the long-term care industry because I love all people, but seniors touch my heart in a special way because if we live long enough, we will all become old, frail and will need assistance from caregivers who genuinely care. As a licensed Administrator, I provide leadership that will ensure people in memory care assisted living and/or skilled care receive THE best person-centered care available. I work in this field to ensure that on my watch members of the senior community will receive quality care that protects their dignity and their rights. I love the residents. I love seeing glimpses of who they were and who they are now. It is a joy to be a leader in this industry and at Somerset Court University Place. Personally, I am the mother of one daughter, Zoe Salome. I love to read. I love to travel. I love to cook. Only a few people know that I have been a personal chef for people on special diets such as KETO.

Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.
Nathaniel McBee brings six years of culinary experience to his role as Dietary Manager. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a focus in Food Service Management, he began his career in corporate catering events with Bank of America in Charlotte, North Carolina, before moving into healthcare at the start of the pandemic. Nathaniel enjoys learning the stories and histories of the residents he serves. He especially values the teamwork in the kitchen and his colleagues’ willingness to go above and beyond. Some of his favorite moments are parties where the team can interact with residents, including a mocktail station where they mixed drinks with shakers, muddled ingredients, and used wood chip smoke infusers. Outside of work, Nathaniel enjoys trivia nights, chicken wings, and podcasts full of spooky stories. His approach to food is captured by a favorite quote from Auguste Escoffier: “Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.”
